ATTACHMENT PLAY MAGIC
Transform Challenges into Connection Through Play
what is attachment play for?
Bedtime is a battle. Getting out the door is a battle. Choosing clothes and getting dressed is a battle. Toothbrushing is definitely a battle. Your kids are bickering or hitting each other again and you're dishing out threats and promises of screen time like they’re hot bread.
Attachment Play Magic is a practical, self-paced course teaching you 45+ playful games that turn moments like this into connection and cooperation, because although we weren’t taught this, play is how children heal from trauma, process and express feelings and re-gain their natural cooperative state. Attachment Play is the way to our children’s heart and mind - way more than all the reasoning and repeating we tend to do.
what is attachment play?
Laughter is literally medicine!Attachment Play is one of the cornerstones of Aware Parenting, and if you've only heard the term in passing on social media, it's not just "playing with your child more." It's using play in specific ways, for example: to meet a need that isn't being met, to help kids release pent-up feelings through laughter, to rebuild felt safety after a scary or overwhelming moment, to reconnect after a rupture. You’re likely doing some Attachment Play already!
Like ordinary rough-and-tumble or peek-a-boo. Because Attachment Play is a way of using connection and laughter to do what talking can’t, it’s helpful when we use it with purpose.
This course will teach you how to use it to:
Bring ease, fun and connection to daily struggles (like getting dressed, bedtimes, etc)
Prepare your child for tricky transitions, like a new sibling, a medical visit, or a big move
Help your child process difficult or even traumatic experiences (birth trauma, hospital stays, separations)
Support emotional release through laughter and reduce anxiety — no lectures needed
Reduce yelling, power struggles and sibling fights while creating more joy for the whole family
Build trust and cooperation while making parenting more joyful

who am i
Hello! I’m Maru
I'm Mexican, a climber, parent to two young children, and a Level 2 Aware Parenting Mentor and EC & Potty Learning Consultant — which is a fancy way of saying I help parents with sleep, toileting, big feelings, and the general beautiful chaos of raising small humans.
Here's the origin story: I had the "luck" of having a baby who didn't sleep. Six months into gruelling sleep deprivation, I found Aware Parenting — and with it, a third way with sleep that wasn't "cry it out" and wasn't just white-knuckling through the exhaustion either.
Within two years I'd trained as an Aware Parenting Mentor. I come at this work through a trauma-informed lens now, with a genuine commitment to questioning the "shoulds" we've inherited.
I believe we're living through a critical moment for humanity, and that changing how we parent — ourselves and our children — is one of the real ways we shift the world.
I don't think parenting needs to feel like a constant test of whether you're doing it “right”. I think it can feel connected instead — messy, loud, and somehow easier.

I really enjoyed Maru's (Attachment Play) course - she made the topic really accessible and easy to understand and there are lot's of great suggestions for games sprinkled throughout. She also covers a wide array of recognisable situations where play might be useful. She talks really passionately about attachment play and aware parenting and makes it really clear why this is a great tool to have in your parenting toolbox.

Really enjoyed doing Maru's course together with my partner. It gave us heaploads of food for thought and ideas for whenever things get tough with our little one. I've started getting a bit more comfortable with holding her emotions and playing when I feel myself getting activated.

Absolutely. I just ask that you don't share it beyond your household.
-
No. Attachment Play can help with the same issues therapy addresses, but at home, with caregivers who already have a secure attachment with the child. In some cases external professional support is still the right call — Attachment Play can support that process too, rather than replace it.
-
You do, at least 3 times per year through the live Q&A calls. And if you want you can add one 90-minute mentoring session plus one week of Telegram support.
