Here you can find a selection of books and products for potty training and EC that I recommend. I only list products here that I’ve tried and tested myself! Where possible, they are sustainable or have ethical credentials.

Potty board books

On My Potty - Board Book

A lovely illustrated book that features a gender-free baby observing what other animals do to pee (ie: they don’t pee on themselves!). He sits on the potty - and tinkle tinkle! - transitions from nappies to undies.

Pip and Posy - The Little Puddle

Pip comes to play at Posy's house. They have such a lovely time that Pip forgets he needs to wee. But everyone has accidents sometimes… A lovely & reassuring book for recently potty trained toddlers.

Potty Superstar - girls

I love that this book features Ella - a Black main character & her family. She picks out pants & a potty and the story places good emphasis on hand washing. The boy version is different and features a white family.

Tiny Potty Book

The nappy-less book that clearly teaches all the steps of potty use, from pants down to wiping & flushing. These are printed and sold in the US only, but you can buy a copy by clicking below.

Everybody Poos

A humorous book that shows that if you eat, you poo ! Good to bring some fun or if your child has shown some fear. It also shows the process of pooing & flushing, without it being the focus.

Nappy Free Baby

This book is a whole guide to EC (from the history to the practicalities). My favourite book on this subject.  I have a few signed copies by the UK author, Amber Hatch.

Night Potty Book

"Wake to pee! Don't forget, let's wake to pee!" For every parent who is helping their child sleep without nappies at night, read this book right before the lights go out. A reminder goes a long way.

Once Upon a Potty

This book comes in a boy/girl version.

Unlike others - it shows the different body parts (but doesn’t stick to anatomically correct names).
